Mat Alano-Martin comes to comedy from the world of rock and roll, where he spent 10 years touring North America as an Americana singer-songwriter, opening for a who’s who of indie rockers and roots revivalists and occasionally headlining his own smaller, less well attended shows. With a comedic style that bridges the alternative sensibilities of his indie-rock background with the more mainstream views of his rural and blue collar youth, Alano-Martin has appeared at comedy clubs, punk rock dives, redneck roadhouses, casinos, colleges, living rooms and everywhere in between.

Alano-Martin has appeared on the nationally syndicated The Bob & Tom Show and at a several festivals including:
- Gilda’s LaughFest
- The Laughing Devil Comedy Festival
- The World Series of Comedy
- Cleveland Comedy Festival
- The Black Box Comedy Festival
- Sacramento Comedy Festival
- Green Gravel Comedy Festival
- The Indy Fringe Festival
- Laugh in a Box Festival
- Comcast’s “Look Who’s Laughing Now.”

Not only has Alano-Martin appeared at several festivals, he co-founded and co-directs one as well. The Limestone Comedy Festival, which has hosted acts such as Pete Holmes, Tig Notaro, Maria Bamford, Doug Benson, Jackie Kashian, Graham Elwood, You Made It Weird, The Dork Forest, The Doug Benson Movie Interruption & Comedy Film Nerds.
