Voted the World's Funniest Cop in 2001, and Nashville's Detective of the Year in 2002, Dan juggled the two demanding careers of comedian and detective before choosing to devote his full efforts to the comedy stage in 2005.
Initially using humor to attempt to ease volatile situations as a Armed Robbery Detective, Dan started stand-up comedy at open mics in 1998. By 1999 he had won the WKDF Talent Search judged by Nashville celebrities. In 2000 Dan started working at Zanies in Nashville as well as several other local venues.
After winning the World's Funniest Cop contest in Orlando Florida, Dan began picking up corporate work for several local as well as national police organizations including the International Chiefs of Police.
With a growing reputation as a comedian, Dan was named "Investigator of the Year" for his work in capturing a serial robber/rapist in 2003. The Tennessean referred to the award as being won by a "comedian/detective"
In 2005 Dan left the police department to focus on his growing comedy career. Although police related material makes up only a small percentage of his act, Dan does draw humor from several unlikely sources and situations.
Armed with a comedic style that has generated laughter everywhere from trauma units to comedy clubs, Dan is currently touring the nation as a professional comedian.
