The ImprovBoston Women In Comedy Festival is a celebration of Boston comedy debuting in Boston in May 2009. Comedic artists from improv, sketch, film, and stand up comedy will represent the funny from the female perspective.
The Festival runs May 13 – 16 at ImprovBoston, and will include acclaimed stand-up comedians, improv and sketch groups, writers and filmmakers. There will be a panel discussion to increase the dialogue among local female comedians. Workshops with award winning working comedians are available to the public. As part of our effort to use comedy to bridge gaps and grow as women, the festival will host workshops with local high school women and with Cambridge Women's Shelter.
In its first year, the festival features Boston's most hilarious and hard-working comedians. As the festival grows, we will accept submissions from out of town talent from all walks of comedy: stand up, alternative, solo entertainers, and writers.
