Iowa Comedy Festival

October 13-16, 2010

The Iowa Comedy Festival is the Hawkeye State's inaugural celebration of stand-up comedy. Over 50 comedians from all over Iowa and beyond will grace stages in downtown Des Moines from October 13-16. Highlighted by the Court Center Comedy Competition (C4) and Festival headliner Jake Johannsen, the Iowa Comedy Festival is an unprecedented event in the history of the state. With networking seminars and a Best of the Midwest showcase thrown in, there is something for everyone at the Iowa Comedy Festival to enjoy.

October 13
7:00 pm- Best of the Midwest Showcase
*at 4th Street Theatre
*Tickets are $10

9:30 pm- Kernels All-Iowa Showcase
*at 4th Street Theatre
*Tickets are $10

*Tickets to the shows are 2/$15 if you buy them as a package

October 14
8:30 pm- FINALS- The Court Center Comedy Competition
*at Peoples Court
*Largest comedy contest in Iowa history
*Grand prize- $1000
*Top 3 finalists open for Jake Johannsen on October 16
*Will be judged by reps from 5 different booking agencies
*Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door

October 15
7:00 pm- Showcase at Des Moines Social Club
*$10 suggested donation

9:00 pm- TBA Comedy Show at Peoples Court
*Ticket prices TBA

11:00 pm- Midnight Mania Comedy Show at House of Bricks
*Tickets are $10

October 16
2:00 pm- Networking Seminar for comedians and industry professionals
*FREE

7:00 pm- TBA Comedy Show
*Tickets $10

9:30 pm- Grand Finale Showcase at Peoples Court
*Starring Jake Johannsen
*Tickets are $15 from April 5th- May 3rd, then $20 starting May 4th
