The "RooftopComedy National College Comedy Competition" ("Contest") starts 2/1/08 and ends 5/31/2008 as detailed below. The sponsor of this Contest is Rooftop Media, Inc., 530 Howard Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94105 ("RooftopComedy"). The Contest shall be subject to these Official Rules, and by entering, all participants agree to be bound by the terms and conditions herein.
*****ELIGIBILITY. This Contest is only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are of majority age in the jurisdiction of their legal residency as of the date of their entry and who at time of entry and prize awarding are a registered student matriculated in an Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Doctoral degree-granting program at one of the colleges or universities participating in the events series and competition. A list of the participating colleges and universities is located at www.rooftopcomedy.com/college.
Employees, shareholders, officers and directors of Rooftop Media Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, related companies, sponsors, vendors, agencies, the judging panelists, and any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the performances, and each of their immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouses and in-laws, regardless of where they reside) and those living in the household of same, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win. Each entrant represents and warrants that he/she is not under contract with any third party, nor is he/she a member of any performance union or guild, including, without limitation, A.E.A., S.A.G. or A.F.T.R.A., which might interfere with his or her ability to participate fully in the Contest and receive a prize if selected as a winner. This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. By entering, entrants agree that they have read these Official Rules and to abide by and be bound by all terms of these Official Rules.
*****HOW TO ENTER: According to the schedule detailed on the RooftopComedy website (www.rooftopcomedy.com), students may register online or onsite to participate in the Contest. Students must indicate the comedy category in which they will be participating: 1) stand-up comedy; or 2) comedic short film, or both. Participants will be required to provide their full name, address, city, state, zip code, telephone number(s), email address, the college or university currently attending and current year of attendance. In addition, participants will be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Submission Release Form ("Submission Form") by which they agree to hold Rooftop and its affiliates, officers, directors, partners, shareholders and agents not liable for any claims resulting from participation in the Contest. Failure to complete this Affidavit of Eligibility/Submission Release Form will result in forfeiture.
*****ON-CAMPUS TALENT SEARCH: Registered and eligible stand-up comedy performers and comedic filmmakers may take part in the first round of the competition, the On-Campus Talent Search Round.
All stand-up comedy performers must register online at www.rooftopcomedy.com/college or onsite before the commencement of their school's On-Campus Talent Search event in order to participate. After meeting all of the above stated registration requirements, stand-up comedy performers will be given the opportunity to perform their original comedy routine for three (3) minutes during the live On-Campus Talent Search event. Should there be more registered participants than can perform during the time allotted for the live event, participants will perform on a first-come-first-served basis. Due to time and logistics constraints, RooftopComedy does not guarantee that every registered performer will have the opportunity to perform live.
Performances may not include hate speech and may be disqualified for obscene, libelous, or defamatory statements, or statements that invade the publicity or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased. RooftopComedy shall have the right to disqualify any entries due to technical, legal or other problems, or which it deems to be obscene or otherwise not in good taste, as determined by RooftopComedy in its sole discretion. RooftopComedy and its representatives' decisions are final and binding with respect to all matters relating to this Contest.
Stand-up comedy participants will be judged at the live event to determine the funniest performance, based on humor, originality and positive audience reaction. Judging will be done by the audience in attendance that will be given the opportunity to vote for their preferred performances. Voting may be different at each On-Campus Talent Search event and may take the form of a physical show of support (ballots, clapping, standing, raising of hands, etc.) or other method determined in the sole discretion of the RooftopComedy or its representatives. In the case of a tie, a second voting by the audience in attendance will be conducted and will continue, as needed to break the tie. In the event of any dispute with respect to audience voting or if audience voting is inconclusive, RooftopComedy and its representatives' decisions are final and binding. Not more than eight (8) stand-up comedy performers from each school will be chosen as "winners" of the On-Campus Talent Search event. They will formulate the stand-up comedy component of their school's Comedy Team and will advance to the Regional Semi-Finals Round of the competition.
For participants in the comedic short film portion of the competition, after meeting all of the above stated registration requirements, participants will be given the opportunity to submit an original comedic short film or films for the On-Campus Talent Search event by uploading it to the RooftopComedy.com website. Participants may submit more than one film. All submissions must be received not later than 12:00 AM PST on April 7, 2008. Submitted films must be between :15 seconds and five (5) minutes in duration. Films must not include nudity, hate speech, graphic violence or other obscene or inflammatory content as determined at the sole discretion of RooftopComedy. Films may not defame or invade the publicity or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person's personal or proprietary rights.
By submitting a film entry or entries, participants represent and warrant that: (i) they are the owner of the submitted film and all rights associated with it, or have an unrestricted right to grant to Rooftop all the rights granted under the RooftopComedy Terms of Use; and (ii) all the following have been fully paid or discharged or will be fully paid and discharged by the filmmaker or by persons other than Rooftop: (1) all claims and rights of owners of copyright in literary, dramatic and musical rights and other property or rights in or to all stories, plays, scripts, scenarios, themes, incidents, plots, characters, dialogue, music, words, and other material of any nature whatsoever appearing, used or recorded in the submitted film; and (2) all payments required to be made to any performing rights society or to any body or group representing authors, composers, musicians, artists, comedians, any other participants in the production of the submission, publishers or other persons having legal or contractual rights of any kind in the submission and any taxes thereon.
RooftopComedy in its sole discretion shall determine if any entry is inappropriate for publication on RooftopComedy's website and shall have the right to disqualify any entries that it deems to not meet the aforementioned criteria, or due to technical, legal or other problems, or which it deems to be obscene or otherwise not in good taste. RooftopComedy and its representatives' decisions are final and binding with respect to all matters relating to this Contest.
Eligible comedic short films will be judged by a panel of judges chosen at the sole discretion by RooftopComedy. Films will be judged based on humor, originality, and production values. A total of 16 Semi-Finalist films will be selected to be posted on RooftopComedy.com for the Semi-Final Voting Window from April 21st - April 30th. From this group of 16, a Final Four will be selected to advance to the Finals in Aspen.
In total not more than sixteen (16) eligible entries from each school — eight (8) stand-up comedians and eight (8) comedic short films — performed or received for the On-Campus Talent Search as detailed above, and judged to have achieved the highest scores according to the above-specified criteria shall be declared Regional Semi-Finalists and members of their school's Comedy Team. Winners will be notified in person, by telephone, email or via online posting on RooftopComedy.com within forty-eight (48) hours of the completion of judging. RooftopComedy reserves the right to choose fewer than sixteen (16) Regional Semi-Finalists for a specific school if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified entries from that participating school.
*****REGIONAL SEMI-FINALS: The second round of the event series will be the Regional Semi-Finals.
Stand-up comedy performers from each Comedy Team will be invited to perform up to a five (5) minute performance in front of a live audience at a participating comedy venue which is in reasonable proximity to the Comedy Team's school (as determined by RooftopComedy), according to the schedule and venue list as updated on RooftopComedy.com. RooftopComedy may in its discretion provide busing services (as shall be set forth on RooftopComedy.com) to and from such venues to members of the Comedy Team, provided that all other expenses related to travel to and participation in the Regional Semi-Finals shall be borne by each member of the Comedy Team. Judging of the performers will be done by a combination of ratings from a panel of judges selected by RooftopComedy and audience members in attendance. Ratings from the panel of judges will account for 50% of each performer's total score. Ratings from audience voting will account for 50% of each performer's total score. Audience voting may be different at each Regional Semi-Final Event and may take the form of paper ballots, physical show of support (clapping, standing, raising of hands, etc.) or other method determined in the sole discretion of the RooftopComedy or its designee. ONLY ONE (1) VOTE PER AUDIENCE MEMBER IN ATTENDANCE WILL BE ALLOWED. The one (1) performance at a specific Regional Semi-Final Event receiving the highest total vote as determined by RooftopComedy or its representatives shall be declared the Regional Finalist for that specific location and as such qualify for the National Online Voting as detailed below. In the case of a tie, a second round of voting by the judges will be conducted, and will continue as needed to break the tie. Additionally, the one (1) performance from each specific Regional Semi-Final Event receiving the second highest score will be declared the Regional Runner Up for that location. Each Regional Runner Up will be eligible for a unique Runner Up online voting window as outlined in the Regional Online Voting section of this document. From the sixteen (16) Runners Up nation-wide, the performer who has obtained the most votes during the Runner Up Online Voting Window will be included in the Regional Finalist Online Voting Window and will be considered a Regional Finalist.
Short films from each Comedy Team will be published to RooftopComedy.com and screened by the Regional Semi-Finals judges. One (1) film from each Regional Semi-Final event receiving the highest total vote from the judges selected by RooftopComedy shall be declared the Regional Finalist for that specific location and as such qualify for the National Online Voting as detailed below.
In the case of a tie, a second voting by the judges will be conducted, and will continue as needed to break the tie. Regional Finalists will be notified within a reasonable period after RooftopComedy's completion of the vote tabulations.
*****REGIONIAL ONLINE VOTING: The third round of the event series will be the Regional Online Voting.
Audio-video recordings of all seventeen (17) Regional Finalists', all sixteen (16) Regional Runners Up stand-up comedy performances, and all sixteen (16) Regional Finalists' winning comedic short films will be posted at RooftopComedy's website. All visitors to the website may register as members. Registered members of RooftopComedy will be allowed to vote for Runners Up and Regional Finalists in each of the two categories. Voting by the registered members for Runners Up will begin at 12:00 noon PST April 15, 2008 and ends at 12:00 noon PST on April 20, 2008. Voting by registered members for Regional Finalists will begin at 12:00 noon PST on April 21, 2008 and all voting ends at 12:00 noon PST on April 30, 2008. ONLY ONE (1) VOTE PER REGISTERED MEMBER PER CATEGORY WILL BE ALLOWED.
Votes generated by script, macro or other automated means or with the intent to impair the integrity of the voting process will be void.
At the conclusion of voting, RooftopComedy will post to the website the four (4) highest ranked performances and the four (4) highest ranked comedic short films receiving the highest vote total by percentage at the conclusion of the public voting schedule stated above.
In the case of a tie, a tie will be announced online via the website and voting will continue for an additional 30 minutes in order to break the tie. Should additional ties occur, voting will be extended for additional 30 minute periods as needed until the tie is broken. RooftopComedy and its representatives' decisions are final and binding with respect to the breaking of any ties in this manner.
The eight (8) Final Four winners — four (4) in the stand-up comedy category and four (4) in the short film category — will be posted online and the winners will be contacted by telephone and/or email by May 12, 2008. All eight winners will be eligible for a trip to Aspen, CO for the National Finals May 30-31, 2008. In order to receive such trip, each winner shall be required to sign a liability/travel release.
Entrants to the short-film category of the competition are not required to attend the National Finals in Aspen, CO in order to be considered a Final Four winner. Entrants to the stand-up comedy category are required to attend the National Finals in Aspen, CO and to perform live at the event in order to be considered a Final Four winner. Should a stand-up comedy performer or performers be unable or unwilling to attend the live event, the next highest ranking stand-up comedy performer will be considered a Final Four winner and invited to attend the National Finals.
*****NATIONAL FINALS IN ASPEN, CO: The fourth and final round of the event series will be the National Finals in Aspen, CO.
The Final Four stand-up comedy performers will perform a three to five (3-5) minute stand-up comedy performance before a live audience at The Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO over the weekend of May 30-31, 2008. Exact dates and times will be announced in advance of the National Finals. The performances will be broadcast live via the website RooftopComedy.com.
Audience members at the performance will be allowed to vote for a winner. Audience voting may take the form of a physical show of support (ballots, clapping, standing, raising of hands, etc.) or other method determined in the sole discretion of the RooftopComedy or its designee. Registered members of RooftopComedy may also vote for a winner. ONLY ONE (1) VOTE PER AUDIENCE MEMBER OR REGISTERED MEMBER WILL BE ALLOWED. All voting will begin at the conclusion of the four stand-up comedy performances and will continue for not less than thirty (30:00) minutes after all four performances have concluded. The single performance receiving the highest vote total from both the live audience and the online audience by percentage at the conclusion of the voting will be declared the Stand-up Comedy Winner of the National College Comedy Competition.
In the case of a tie, a tie will be announced and online voting will continue for an additional five (5) minutes in order to break the tie. Should additional ties occur, online voting will be extended for additional five (5) minute periods as needed until the tie is broken.

The Final Four comedy short films will be screened before a live audience at The Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO over the weekend of May 30-31, 2008. Exact dates and times will be announced in advance of the National Finals. The films will also be made available for viewing via the website RooftopComedy.com.
Audience members at the performance will be allowed to vote for a winner. Audience voting may take the form of a physical show of support (ballots, clapping, standing, raising of hands, etc.) or other method determined in the sole discretion of the RooftopComedy or its designee. The public will also be allowed to visit the website and register as a member. Registered members of RooftopComedy may vote for a winner. ONLY ONE (1) VOTE PER AUDIENCE MEMBER OR REGISTERED MEMBER WILL BE ALLOWED. Online voting for the short films will begin 24-hours prior to the final film screening and live stand-up comedy event and will end thirty (30:00) minutes after all four stand-up comedy performances have concluded (thereby ending at the same time as voting will end for the stand-up comedy category of the event). Films receiving the highest vote total by percentage at the conclusion of the public voting schedule stated above will be declared the Comedic Short Film Winner of the National College Comedy Competition.
In the case of a tie, a tie will be announced and online voting will continue for an additional five (5) minutes in order to break the tie. Should additional ties occur, online voting will be extended for additional five (5) minute periods as needed until the tie is broken. RooftopComedy and its representatives' decisions are final and binding with respect to the breaking of any ties in this manner. Votes generated by script, macro or other automated means or with the intent to impair the integrity of the voting process will be void.
*****RooftopComedy will randomly select one winner from one of the schoolsfifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are of majority age in the jurisdiction of their legal residency as the Trip to Aspen Prize Winner. The Trip to Aspen Prize Winner must be a registered member of RooftopComedy.com as of May 12, 2008 and meet all eligibility requirements as stated below. No purchase is necessary to win the Trip to Aspen, and each registered member will only be entered once. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible registered members of RooftopComedy.com as of May 12, 2008. The Trip to Aspen Winner will win a trip for two (2) to attend the National Finals in Aspen, CO, which is comprised of two tickets to attend (but not perform in) the National Finals at The Wheeler Opera House over the weekend of May 30-31, 2008, and lodging and round-trip travel to and from their school and Aspen, CO.
The Trip to Aspen Prize Winner must be: (i) a legal resident of one of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia and of majority age in the jurisdiction of their legal residency; and (ii) be able to travel during the specific dates of 5/30/08 - 6/1/08. If a Trip to Aspen Prize Winner is unable to meet any/all of the above eligibility and/or travel requirements, his or her place as a Trip to Aspen Prize Winner will be forfeited and RooftopComedy at its sole discretion may elect to select as a winner the next randomly selected registered member of RooftopComedy.com who meets the above requirements. The Trip to Aspen Prize Winner will be notified by May 12, 2008.
*****Two grand prizes for the RooftopComedy National College Comedy Competition Winners will be awarded, one for the stand-up comedy winner and one for the comedy short film winner. Each will win $1500.00 USD. The cash award will be provided to the winner within 15 days of the conclusion of the competition.
The eight Final Four winners selected for the National Finals will win a trip from a contiguous U.S. destination city determined by RooftopComedy ("Destination City") to perform at the National Finals in Aspen, CO. Prize consists of (i) round trip ("R/T") economy class (coach) air transportation from the major contiguous U.S. gateway city airport closest to the winner's school or hometown selected by RooftopComedy to Aspen, CO, (ii) three (3) consecutive nights hotel accommodations (one [1] standard room) in an Aspen, CO hotel selected by RooftopComedy, (iii) R/T airport/hotel ground transfers in Aspen, CO, and (iv) the opportunity to perform at or have his/her comedic short film screened at, as applicable, the National Finals at the historic Wheeler Theater in Aspen, CO. In the event that a National Finalist lives within two hundred (200) miles of Aspen, CO, RooftopComedy may, in its sole discretion, substitute ground transportation of RooftopComedy's choice for the air travel portion of the prize as detailed above. The approximate retail value of this prize is $1500 per finalist.
One person who is a registered RooftopComedy.com member as of May 12, 2008 will be selected as the Trip to Aspen Winner and will win a trip from a contiguous U.S. destination city determined by RooftopComedy ("Destination City") to attend the National Finals in Aspen, CO. Prize consists of (i) two round trip ("R/T") economy class (coach) air transportation tickets from the major contiguous U.S. gateway city airport closest to the winner's hometown selected by RooftopComedy to Aspen, CO, (ii) three (3) consecutive nights hotel accommodations (two [2] standard rooms) in an Aspen, CO hotel selected by RooftopComedy, and (iii) R/T airport/hotel ground transfers in Aspen, CO. In the event that the Trip to Aspen winner lives within two hundred (200) miles of Aspen, CO, RooftopComedy may, in its sole discretion, substitute ground transportation of RooftopComedy's choice for the air travel portion of the prize as detailed above. The approximate retail value of this prize is $3000.
Travel arrangements for all travel awards must be made through RooftopComedy's agent. All meals, gratuities, ground transfers, insurance, incidentals and any other costs and expenses not specified herein as being awarded are the sole responsibility of the winner. The National Finalists and Trip to Aspen winners must travel during the dates specified by RooftopComedy or prize will be forfeited, RooftopComedy will have no further obligation to such winners, and alternate winners may be determined at RooftopComedy's sole discretion according to details above. No changes will be made to travel details once any portion of travel arrangements has been made. Certain travel restrictions may apply.
All travel prizes are subject to the following conditions and restrictions: Specific retail value of prize depends on departure and destination cities and market conditions on dates of travel. All expenses and taxes not specifically mentioned herein, including without limitation or limited to, the transportation between the winner's home or school and the major contiguous U.S. gateway city airport closest to the winner's hometown are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winners and guests will be required to provide valid U.S. Federal or state photo ID as required at time of travel. RooftopComedy is not responsible for cancellation of any element of prizes or for changes in schedule of any element of a prize. In the event of a change in schedule or cancellation of any element of a prize, no additional prize element shall be substituted. Hotel accommodations consist of room and room tax charges only. Travel must originate from and end at the same airport. Once travel commences, no stopovers are permitted; if stopover occurs, full fare will be charged from stopover point for the remaining segments, including return, of the trip.
An unclaimed and/or unused travel packages will remain the property of RooftopComedy and will not be awarded.
Each prize winner and his or her submitted entry or additional performance(s) may be profiled by RooftopComedy in RooftopComedy's advertising and marketing campaigns including but not limited to broadcast and/or television, online, in-venue and promotional materials. RooftopComedy reserves the right to change any element of a prize. All details and features of prizes shall be determined by RooftopComedy in its sole discretion.
The total approximate retail value of the prizes to be awarded in this Contest is $18,000. Prizes are not transferable, assignable or redeemable for cash. No substitution, transfer or cash equivalent of a prize by a winner is permitted except at the sole discretion of RooftopComedy. RooftopComedy reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion. All applicable federal, state, local or other taxes, including but not limited to income and withholding taxes, are the sole responsibility of winners.
*****GENERAL: This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Each entrant represents and warrants that any material that he or she submits is original, has not been previously published or won an award, does not infringe upon the copyright or any other right or interest of any other person or organization, and that the entrant has not previously granted any rights to such material to any other person or organization, nor does any third party have any interest in such materials.
RooftopComedy and its respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, judges and any and all Internet servers and access provider(s) are not responsible for: any incorrect or inaccurate entry information; human error; technical malfunctions; failures, omissions, interruptions, deletion, or defects of any telephone network, computer online or e-mail systems, computer equipment, servers, providers, or software, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in this Contest; inability to access the website or any pages thereof; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries; data processing that is processed late or incorrectly or is incomplete or lost due to telephone, computer, software or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on telephone lines or the Internet or any website; or for any other errors or problems of any kind relating to or in connection with the Contest, whether computer, network, technical, mechanical, printing, typographical, human or otherwise or any combination thereof, including, without limitation, any errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. Proof of submitting an entry or vote is not considered proof of delivery or receipt. Illegible and incomplete entries will be disqualified. All entries become the property of the RooftopComedy and will not be returned. False and/or deceptive entries or acts shall render entrants ineligible. By entering the Contest, entrants affirm that they have read and accepted these Official Rules.
Any personal information obtained from a performer will be used by RooftopComedy and its affiliates in accordance with its privacy policy at www.rooftopcomedy.com.
RooftopComedy reserves the right to conduct background checks on any participant at any level as detailed above to verify the accuracy or legitimacy for truthfulness of any information contained within the event registration information or submitted entry. By entering this Contest, entrants (i) agree that all entries and any other materials submitted (whether acceptable or not, regardless of the form they take) will be owned exclusively by RooftopComedy, and (ii) grant Licensees (as defined below) the absolute and exclusive right and permission to edit, modify, publish, exploit and use the content of and elements embodied in the entry (including the performance) and the entry itself worldwide in perpetuity in any and all media (whether now existing or hereafter devised) and in any manner, for trade, advertising, promotional or any other purposes without further approval, permission or consideration. Entrants also agree that RooftopComedy, its affiliated and subsidiary companies, licensees, designees and assigns (collectively, "Licensees") shall have the right and permission to use the name, city and state of residence, signature, voice, video, picture or other likeness, entry, and/or entry information of entrant in any manner or media now or hereafter known (including, without limitation, placing entrant's name, signature, photograph, video, entry, and/or entry information onto the RooftopComedy's website or other site promoting this Contest) without further consideration, financial compensation or notification to or permission from entrant or any third party, except where prohibited by law. Entrants agree to refrain from wearing any clothing items bearing designer, corporate or sports logos or bearing the name or likeness of a celebrity, living or dead, to any performance.
RooftopComedy shall not be liable for personal injuries, death, damages, expenses or costs or losses of any kind resulting from participation or inability to participate in this Contest or acceptance of or use or inability to use a prize (including any travel or activity related thereto) or parts thereof including, without limitation, claims, suits, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light (whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory. Entrants release RooftopComedy from any and all liability and responsibility with respect to the prizes (including any property loss, damage, personal injury, death or travel related hereto). RooftopComedy is not responsible for any changes in the entry, performance, promotion and/or judging schedule as detailed above, including but not limited to changes in date(s), time(s) and/or venue(s). Winners acknowledge that the aforementioned individuals and entities have neither made nor are in any manner responsible for any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, related to the prizes.
If a prize (or portion thereof) cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of RooftopComedy, a substitute prize of comparable or greater retail value will be awarded at the discretion of the RooftopComedy. RooftopComedy shall not be liable to any winner or any other person for failure to supply the prize or any part thereof, by reason of any acts of God, any action(s), regulation(s), order(s) or request(s) by any governmental or quasi-governmental entity (whether or not the action(s), regulation(s), order(s) or request(s) prove(s) to be invalid), equipment failure, terrorist acts, earthquake, war, fire, flood, explosion, unusually severe weather, hurricane, embargo, labor dispute or strike (whether legal or illegal) labor or material shortage, transportation interruption of any kind, work slow-down, civil disturbance, insurrection, riot, or any other cause beyond RooftopComedy's sole control. RooftopComedy shall not be responsible for any cancellations, delays, diversions or substitutions or any act or omissions whatsoever by the air carrier(s), hotel(s), or other transportation companies or any other persons providing any of these services and accommodations to passengers including any results thereof such as changes in services or accommodations necessitated by same. RooftopComedy shall not be liable for any loss or damage to baggage.
If for any reason this Contest is not capable of running as planned or does not allow the proper playing of the Contest and processing of entries per these rules, or if tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in RooftopComedy's sole opinion, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, RooftopComedy reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual (and void his/her entry) implicated in such action, and/or to modify or terminate the Contest or further entry or participation in this Contest, as RooftopComedy deems appropriate. If modification or termination of this Contest occurs, notification will be posted on the website at http://www.rooftopcomedy.com and RooftopComedy may, at its discretion, select potential Finalists and/or prize winners (as applicable) from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received up to time of action. A potential Finalist or prize winner may be requested to provide RooftopComedy with proof that all eligibility requirements are met.
ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, ROOFTOPCOMEDY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
For an Official Winner's List, (available after 6/7/08) or a copy of these Official Rules, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: "RooftopComedy National College Comedy Competition" — WINNER'S NAME — OR — OFFICIAL RULES (VT residents may omit return postage for Official Rules request) (PLEASE SPECIFY WHICH), 530 Howard Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA 94105. Beginning on January 31, 2008 and continuing until June 22, 2008 Official Rules will also be available at the Website www.rooftopcomedy.com. RooftopComedy reserves the right to change these rules at any time. Changes will be reflected in the written rules at that time. Any Any prizes may be awarded to an alternate winner if affidavit/release(s) are not returned within 7 days after sending to winner or if prize notification is returned as undeliverable or if entrant does not respond to prize notification e-mail within 7 days after the date of the e-mail.
The laws of the State of California apply to and govern this competition and any claims must be raised and resolved in the Federal or state courts located in San Francisco County, California, United States.
