Jamie Grant
In his former life, Jamie Grant lived a life of debauchery. Strippers, cocaine, fast motorcycles and more importantly, fast women. After being shot at age sixteen, three weeks in jail for a pimping charge by the age of twenty and a tragic motorcycle accident when he was twenty-four, Jamie realized it might be safer to tell jokes about, rather than live that life.
Jamie Grant has seen the harsh reality and stupidity that the world around him puts on display and he isn't afraid to call it like he sees it. If Jamie weren't a comedian, he could certainly work as a suicide therapist. By comparing his life to most, he is sure to convince a suicidal man that life isn't that bad.
Jamie Grant takes storytelling to a new level with his version of “Tales from the hood…” from a white boy’s eyes of course! Not that Jamie lived in the hood, he just hung out there! A confused white boy with tales that you have to believe because of how unrealistic they are! If Jamie and John Singleton where to sit down and talk there would be a hit movie in the making!
At the age of 16 Jamie was shot because of his lifestyle. The results were tragic; he was now certified in the hood. Growing up listening to N.W.A. didn’t help much either. He blames all his troubles on 2 Live Crew and Vanilla Ice…Wait Vanilla Ice? That is where it all began.
His comedy days began as a motivational speaker trying to sway kids from the life on the streets. Jamie also spoke to teenagers and young adults who have suffered severe trauma. Learning how to walk again made Jamie rethink his ways.
Jamie has appeared in "Walk the Line", "The Code Med Telethon", various commercials in and around the Memphis and Tunica area and even..."Memphis Most Wanted!”
