From the bowels of South Texas, crawls loose this young joke-slinger, evoking the hard-hitting storyteller styles of the Houston comics who came before him. John Wessling has traveled the globe, telling jokes to drunks and comedy fans alike, for over 12 years as a professional.
He is one of only 3 comedians who has ever performed in all 50 states in 50 consecutive days. In 2003 John was a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing season 2 and then a stand-out performer in the New Faces showcase at the 2004 Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. John performed in the Comedy Central Roast of Jeff Foxworthy, as "Johnny Foxworthy"-Jeff's younger brother from prison and in 2006, appeared in the first season of Comedy Central's LIVE at GOTHAM.
Along the way John sold a sitcom about selling cars to Universal Network TV, appeared on the Latino Laugh Festival show on SiTV, headlined clubs in the US & Canada and opened in sold-out theaters across the US for George Lopez, Carlos Mencia, Larry the Cable Guy, Jon Lovitz and Norm MacDonald
The last 3 years John has been focused on new roles as a new-media writer and producer. John's love of sports combined with his natural smart-ass made him an excellent sports comedy blogger and his blogs and videos have been syndicated and linked all over the net. This lead to his dominating appearance on the VERSUS NETWORK's hit show FANARCHY as "Killer Bee from Houston" in 2009. John appeared on the last 7 shows, winning the game ball in 4 and recording the highest single episode score ever...thereby making him the Greatest FANARCHIST in the HISTORY of the WORLD!! (suck it Ray-Ray, Jersey and Buffalo Soldier!)
John Wessling just recently left Los Angeles after 8 years of exile from his native land, and has returned back to Houston as part of the Great TEXODUS of 2009. He is back to telling jokes for a living and can be heard regularly on Sports Radio 610AM and he continuously makes high quality sports comedy on rippedfoul.com and torotimes.com
John is a founding member of the Houston Comedy Union and can be seen LIVE at a comedy club near you.
