Tig Notaro
I opened for Tig in Ohio for a weekend and we've been like peas and carrots ever since. We like to sing "Deja Vu" by Dionne Warwick together. Also, she's incredibly funny and a blast to watch.
Chris Fairbanks
Chris is a friend of mine and perfectly weird. The first time I saw him do comedy a woman crossed in front of the stage, prompting Chris to loudly sing out "Curly hair orange shirt" before going right back to his bit. The woman had curly hair and a bright orange shirt. Magic.
Kyle Kinane
This guy's a real prick and maybe the worst ever. Actually, he's one of my closest friends and among the best out there. Great, great stories and really smart. Had to put him on the list because we started out together. I remember the two of us drinking in a bar in Chicago going, "Boy, this is fun but it'll never go anywhere." Now we've both been on TV and have even kissed girls.
Alex Koll
He had me at "Wizard Hello." Alex is super smart and fun to watch. We became friends at the DC fest too, then had a falling out over my trying to get him to leave San Francisco. We're now locked in a violent feud. Not really. What do you write on these things besides "funny"?
Hari Kondabolu
Hari and I became friends taping the "John Oliver New York Stand-Up Show" in New York together. The theater was enormous, we were both a little nervous, but it went great. I remember celebrating with him afterwards and saying, "History, buddy---we made history." Which was grandiose and only kinda true. This clip is great from beginning to end.
