Kurt Weitzmann began performing stand up at the infamous Holy City Zoo, a dark and wonderful place. His act has been seen on Comedy Central and MTV and more recently at The Vancouver Comedy Festival and at San Francisco Sketchfest. In between Stand Up performances Kurt founded numerous Bay Area sketch groups, including Nervous Laughter, Comedy Noir and The Twist Off Cabaret. Kurt also created, edited, and produced the ingenious SF Weakly, a highly celebrated parody of the SF Weekly. In the year 2000, Kurt moved to Los Angeles and began writing, producing, and performing comedy shows at The HBO Workspace and The Comedy Central Stage and creating sketches and comedy shows at The FAKE Gallery (“Best place to see comedy in LA”- LA Magazine) And the UCB Theater. His one act play Last Call was first produced for the stage in 2008 at Stage Werx in San Francisco and Directed by Norman Siopis. In 2007 his feature length comedy DEAD HAPPY was produced by The SFFC Theater and Directed by Glenn Havlen. The film version of Last Call was a recipient of The Purple Heart Award at The ZERO FILM FESTIVAL in 2008 and is screening at the Washougal International Film Festival in August. Kurt was honored as a semifinalist in the Reverie Next Generation Playwrights Competition last year for his dramatic feature length play, The Abnormal Psychology of God. His highly acclaimed comedy sketch album Talented is now available on American Dream Records.
