Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival Announces 2009 Line-Up & Schedule

San Francisco, CA – Rooftop Comedy (www.RooftopComedy.com), the leading new media provider of performance-based comedy content, today announces the line-up of professional comics set to perform at the 2009 Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival taking place June 11-13.

Partnering with the historic Wheeler Opera House, the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival features 25 of the hottest comics performing in the world today. In addition to appearing regularly at the most prestigious clubs, these comics can be seen frequently on Saturday Night Live, Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and many more.

The Festival will also host the finals of the Rooftop Comedy National College Comedy Competition. After multiple rounds of competition, four college comedy teams - UC Berkeley, University of Minnesota, Emerson College, and University of Florida - and four Funny Films from filmmakers at Emerson College, Xavier University and San Francisco State University remain to compete live for the title of “The Country’s Funniest College Students.”

Building on the deep history of comedy in Aspen established by the H.B.O. / U.S. Comedy Arts Festival that ran from 1985 through 2007, the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, which is in its second year, is devoted to showcasing the Rising Stars of comedy and introducing fans and comics to each other.
