Ball Wins Stand-Up Competition & Perrault Wins Short-Film Competition
Ball and Perrault Named "Nation's Funniest College Students"

SAN FRANCISCO — Tim Ball of Duke University and Dan Perrault of Emerson College are the winners of RooftopComedy's 1st Annual National College Comedy Competition, earning them the titles of the "Nation's Funniest College Students," it was announced today by Will C. Rogers, CEO of RooftopComedy.

Ball and Perrault emerged the winners after the Final Rounds of both the Stand-Up and Short-Film competitions that took place in a live broadcast on Saturday, May 31st from the famed Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, CO during the Inaugural Aspen RooftopComedy Festival.

The RooftopComedy National College Comedy Competition hosted 32 On-Campus competitions, 16 Regional Semi-Final contests and 2 Online Voting rounds of competition that narrowed down the 600+ comedians and short-film makers to just 4 in each category, all of whom went head-to-head on Saturday night. Votes were cast by both the online and Wheeler Opera House audiences.

Tim Ball, the winner of the Stand-Up competition, is a 22-year-old, 2008 graduate of Duke University from Dallas, TX with a BA in Sociology. Though he came in 2nd place during the Regional Semi-Final round, Tim was voted back into the competition during an online voting round of all Runners-Up for the 1 'Wild Card' slot to go on and win the title of "Nation's Funniest College Student."

Perrault, who won the Short-Film category with "Car Phone," is a 21-year-old, Senior Acting Major at Emerson College from Hingham, MA.

"We are thrilled for Tim and Dan," said Rogers. "The National College Comedy Competition has been a tremendous experience for all of us and we are extremely proud of every comedian who had the courage to get up and show the world what they've got. The response to the competition has been so positive that we are already planning next year's to be twice as large."
